Here is the Number 1 Tip from my "Professional Tips" tutorial; "If I was pushed for only one piece of advice it would be this; Read as much as you possibly can about Copywriting, advertising, selling, and the world of marketing. 'Live' in the library and devour every book available on these subjects. Then read them again. Choose the ones that have the greatest impact on your Copywriting skills and buy them. You will never, ever, make a wiser business investment. All professional copywriters have their own collection of the 'classics' written by the really great copywriters and advertisers of the 20th century. And books written by some of the present day Copywriting gurus will make a significant impact on your Copywriting and marketing skills. And on your sales." Obviously I haven't read all of them. But of the many I have read, a few have become my staple diet and are a constant source of ideas and inspiration to me. And I'm sure they'll do exactly the same for you. I'm not going to list a dozen or so books on this page, because it will only confuse you. I personally feel that the following two books are all you need to give a kick-start to understanding how to write Sales Copy for your business - online or off. Once you become proficient, then you can choose other books to help improve and maximize your efforts. If you are new to Copywriting and a bit wary of spending money on books, I can only offer you this advice; Beg, borrow or buy these books. They will give you a massive 'kick-start' toward writing Sales copy that will pull more response than you have ever experienced before. These books will be one of the best business investments you could ever make. Yet they cost peanuts when compared to the huge difference they will make to your sales. "Magic Words That Bring You Riche$" Ted is a direct marketing genius. And this book distills over 100 million dollars worth ($100,000,000) of his own advertising money into 300+ pages of priceless insider knowledge. Reputed to be the highest paid copywriter in the world Ted reveals more tips per page than any other book I have come across. And every single one is based on his own experience of making countless millions of dollars from his own direct marketing businesses. If you want to attend one of his seminars it will cost you up to $15000 a seat. I'll repeat that - Fifteen thousand dollars a seat. That's how brilliant this man is, so his reputation speaks for itself. He covers the field of direct sales and Copywriting in the minutest of detail and leaves absolutely no stone unturned. Miss it and you'll deprive yourself of an Aladdin's cave of priceless advice. So study this guy's advice and soon you'll begin to feel, taste, and think like a direct marketer. And more importantly you'll learn how potential buyers 'think' when they read you sales message. If you're writing for the Web, this book will teach you the vital essentials of selling with words. The techniques for tweaking and maximizing those words for the Web are explained in my tutorials on this site, and covered in depth in the next book down.
